Well I feel I need to do one last summer time favorites post because whether I like it or not fall is upon us. It has been cool and refreshing here this week.
One of the things I love most about Portland and summer are the Farmer’s Markets. It’s like strolling through a sensory Disneyland really. There are vibrant colors everywhere. With each step a new smell awakens your senses. And the people watching is just an added bonus. It’s a delightful way to spend an hour or two.
I also LOVE the sound of sprinklers. Not just any sprinklers but the long line of pipes that are used to water a pasture. The rhythmic, calming sound that it makes takes me back to my youth. I fell asleep and woke up to that sound on most summer days.
And then there are the basic sprinklers that are just fun to run through, stand in or just stand over and shove your face right in it. Glorious!
