Jenna had her last day of German today. Their class did a play called “Kie Bremer Stadtmusikanten” and it was very entertaining for sure. The kids did a great job acting out their animal parts and speaking their German lines. The teachers were incredible playing the guitar and singing with the kids throughout the songs in the play. Such a fun way to end the year. Now on to preschool graduation on Thursday. I’m telling myself it’s only preschool and I’m not allowed to cry. Lord help me.
Jenna and I also finished the school scrapbook today. Oye. Glad that’s done and seriously won’t be doing that again. Although I do like having projects that have a beginning and an end. It’s rather satisfying.
I also finished putting teacher gifts together. I made this fantastic Lemon Sugar Scrub that smells like lemon meringue pie and makes your skin feel amazing, put in one of my favorite chocolate bars, a Jones Cream Soda and a fun new summer glass in a cute container and we’re good to go. It’s not extravagant but a small thank you I think they’ll appreciate.
Lemon Sugar Scrub
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/3 virgin coconut oil
- 10 or so drops of lemon essential oil
Then the kids and I went to Costco for some things and I’m sorry to say that I had no will power over the sausage dog with sauerkraut and I cheated on my vegan diet. It’s hard to want to go home and cook a vegan dish for me and the kids when Costco is just so much simpler. I know, it wasn’t even a steak that I caved over but a sausage dog. The kids were happy, I was happy and I don’t feel guilty. I then sent Matt a text because he was out with some guys tonight. Here’s how the text went:
Watcha eatin?
Vegan Nachos with cheese and meat
Hahahaha. And I just had a vegan sausage dog 😉
What can I say? We’re not hard core with the challenge but we’ve done pretty great if I do say so myself. Now I’m off to watch reality TV and eat my popcorn with my vegan buttery spread (and no it doesn’t taste as good as butter but it’s pretty good), don’t judge me.
Something that is successful (since my vegan eating wasn’t today) around here are our roses. They are AMAZING. We have light pink, dark pink, these yellow ones and today a dark red one started to bloom. My heart is so thankful. Funny thing is, I’ve always wanted to live in a yellow house and have rose bushes. Crazy how God can answer even the silliest desires of your heart.
Hope you all have a great week. Blessings.
And I know what you’re watching!!
