We’ve been enjoying a low-key day around our house today. Sitting by the warm fire, a walk out in the incredible sunshine, a nap (for me anyway), a Christmas Eve church service to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas, Christmas fettuccine, lighting the final advent candle, and reading the last of the Advent book.
It’s been a delightful day. It is not without it’s heartaches though. We live in a broken world with broken people and therefore there will always be pain, disappointment, hurt and a longing for the day we can celebrate not only Christ’s birth but His final coming. I long for that perfect home waiting in heaven. Until that day comes, we cling to faith in the Christ child, the one who knows our pain, walked on this filthy earth and chose to die for us. So whether you’re enjoying an amazing holiday full of nothing but cheer or one that is hard and painful may the Lord meet you there. May you find joy and comfort in knowing that God knows what it’s like to give up a loved one and watch them suffer. He is the perfect Father who gave us the perfect gift for Christmas, Jesus. I find incredible joy and peace in that, no matter the circumstance.
Blessings to you my friends. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
Merry Christmas McComas family. We love you guys.
