Today is the day that changed our family for the better. We were given the gift of a son and Jenna became a sister. It’s a day we had prayed for for years. It’s hard to explain that day. I know I’ve shared about it before. It was one of great excitement and joy and yet pain all wrapped up in one. It’s a strange thing to be in the room and have your son be born, handed to you, and then to walk away from the woman who carried him for the last nine months. There just aren’t enough words to describe it all.
I do know that God’s hand was in it from the beginning, carried us all through that time and is now continuing that story of redemption and grace in all of our lives. Isaac is a miracle and gift from the Lord.
So today sweet Isaac, we celebrate you! Approximately 30 pounds of you, with a head of gorgeous curly hair, an amazing dimple, deep brown eyes, the best laughter a child could have, cheeks that won’t quit, a temper that flares occasionally, a personality that is lovable and a laid back side that says “I am bothered by nothing.” I can’t get enough of your snuggles and your sister thinks you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to her. You are loved by literally hundreds of people, chosen, and precious beyond words. We love you so much and thank God daily for you.
Now let the cake eating begin. Stay tuned for pictures of that. Thanks to everyone who has prayed for us and our sweet boy throughout this journey. We are truly blessed.
