It was a beautiful summer evening spent with my sweet man. I love date night. I am so thankful that I have a wonderful husband who I thoroughly enjoy being with; he’s my favorite. I know not everyone is so lucky. Now that you’re all nauseous from my mushiness I’ll share some of the highlights of the evening. It is Portland after all so there were some memorable moments to enjoy while people watching.
I know you’re all dying to know if I kept to my new food restrictions; well, I did not. We had a gift card to an Indian restaurant called the Bombay Cricket Club. We had never been there and didn’t know what to expect. Pretty much everything on the menu had at least one thing in the dish I wasn’t supposed to eat. So after about 2 days of my new diet I threw it out the window and enjoyed myself some delicious dinner. Tomorrow is a new day. And we watched Cricket on the tv while there. I’m pretty sure that I’ve never watched that sport before, and I had no idea what was going on.
After dinner we strolled down Hawthorne St. Always something interesting to see really. My favorite (and there were a few memorable people) man of the evening was a young guy dressed in all black walking up and down the street playing an accordion. But that’s not the best part, he had a black kitten that was laying on top of the accordion while he was playing. Now that’s talent my friends.
Before heading home we just had to have a dessert waffle from the Waffle Window. That’s right, a window in the side of a building and they serve waffles. Delicious, covered in heavenly goodness, waffles. It was so worth it and don’t worry I scraped a lot of that cream right off of my part (and that is really so wrong to do).
So, we have a new favorite spot to take visitors. If you’re coming to see us be prepared for some waffle goodness.
