Last night I went to a fundraiser for four great organizations that help kids and families in the Central Oregon area. For those of you who don’t know, I’m from a small town in Oregon and our mascot in high school was the Cowboys and deep down I prefer country music. Anyway, my grandma and her friend had tickets and didn’t want to go so they gave them to my dad and I. It was actually very fun and I enjoyed the entertainment. The first “act” was a couple who were swing dancers and have won a bunch of competitions. The second act was a group put together for an eagle scout project called the Bunkhouse Orchestra and the group has stayed together and continued to play. The third act was a man named Jay Snider who was a Cowboy poet and he was so good. Very funny! Then the last act was Shannon Bex who was previously with the band Danity Kane. Her dad and my dad are really good friends and she grew up in Bend. It was like small town and Hollywood collide in one night.
Just wanted to give you all a glimpse of my night. I know that Matt is sad he missed it. He was watching Chris Tomlin in concert at the Catalyst West conference he was at and I was at Cowboys for Kids. I think we all know who missed out 🙂
