Life has been full speed ahead around here which has left no time for blogging. I’m just trying to keep up each day. So in order to catch you on life the past couple weeks, because I know you’ve been wondering, here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.
We had our backyard movie night for our neighborhood to celebrate the end of summer (how can it already be ending?!) and we had a wonderful time, met a few new people and look forward to next year.
Then we had a lot of our family in town to visit and we had a big party for Isaac’s 3rd birthday. It was a carnival theme and we had a great time with carnival games, huge bubbles that the kids loved and in turn killed our yard in a perfect circle (totally worth it), a photo booth, snow cones and of course cake and ice cream. Isaac loved every minute of it which made it so fun.
All the party fun wore me out and then we headed into a very busy week with work on campus. I’ve been spending lots of time at the Univ. of Portland working with some great women and I’m excited to see all that God’s going to do there this year. We’re excitedly preparing for another trip to Costa Rica in October and I can’t wait.
I’ve somehow been promoted in my MOPS group to helping with the steering team so we’re trying to get ready for that and I’m excited for the year and all the women who are a part of that. If you’re a mom with young kids look into a MOPS group in your area.
We were able to go with our dear friends to the OSU game this weekend (kids were free and our tickets were cheap. Being an alumni paid off). Cheryl and I were roommates in college and our girls are great friends. Who knows maybe one day they’ll be roommates in college like we were. And maybe the Beavers will have a better winning record by then. We had a great time melting in the heat and cheering on our team despite the fact that it was a painful loss.
The end of summer brings cooler breezes blowing in, nights getting darker a little earlier, the kick-off of another school year, new ministry opportunities and so much more. It can be overwhelming at times but I’m just thankful to be a part of all that’s going on around us. I hope that you enjoy the last of your summer days, they are so fleeting. I’ll try to post again soon but there’s no guarantees right now.
