This weekend I was able to get away to the most amazing home (that was straight out of Pottery Barn) in a quaint little town on the coast with 11 other moms on staff with cru. It was such a delightful weekend. And I have to be honest, I’m often skeptical of weekends like these. I’m not a huge fan of big groups, too much content (because as a mom I crave some alone time), forced sharing (which I know can be good for me), and the unknowns. It was none of those things though. The size was perfect, the content was just right, we talked about important topics of life, ministry, and the heart and in the end my soul was refreshed.
It just felt like a total gift from the Lord really. The weather was great, I got good time with friends, alone time, a nap, we found about 40 sand dollars on our stroll on the beach which I have never seen before, we made a fun craft, painted nails, watched a movie, and we enjoyed the most amazing Italian meal (thanks to Shandra who recently came back from many years in Italy). It’s kind of amazing all that a group of moms can accomplish in a 2 day period, but then again when you get time away you have to do as many fun things as you can.
So thanks to all you ladies who were there. I was blessed by your company and feel challenged and encouraged to continue on in this journey of life, motherhood, and ministry.
