Some weekends, success is getting a project done that’s awaiting your attention, spending time with others or getting an overdo list of tasks done. This weekend, success was getting the rest that my body and soul desperately needed. Last night we all were in bed by 6:59. Seriously. I fell asleep about 8:00 and didn’t get out of bed again until 8 this morning. It’s safe to say that I was in need of some sleep and I’m so grateful that we had an uninterrupted night. As if that weren’t great enough the day continued to be restful and fantastic.
After breakfast I rallied the fam and we all bundled up to go for a frosty stroll around the neighborhood. There was a quiet hush in the air and we enjoyed the beauty of frost covering everything.
I loved these roses! So beautiful!
I’m not a fan of spiders or spider webs, but when they’re all frosted over, it’s pretty awesome.
Matt then introduced the kids to tether ball. That was pretty comical and they had a great time.
The fog lifted, the sun shone bright and the sky was amazing blue.
After Jenna went to play with a friend the three of us took a nap. That’s right, I took a nap, even after my 11 hours of sleep. It was glorious. After that we attempted to find a food card that we had a gift card to. Unfortunately, it had moved and so we couldn’t eat there. The kids were so excited about food carts we stopped at a different one, Whiffies (Jenna’s favorite) to buy them dinner and then Matt and I ate at home (because we’re cheap).
It’s been the relaxing day that our family has needed. We have soaked in the beauty of the day, thanked God for our many blessings and enjoyed each other. I call that weekend success, and it’s not even over yet.
May you be having a blessed weekend as well.
